My motto in life is “I don’t want to live on this planet anymore”, but seeing as I’m stuck here, I might as well dance.”
Name: Rayut Siman Tov
City: Tel Aviv, Israel
How long have you been making art: I’ve been doing art since I was three, but I’ve been payed to do it for only eight years
How long have you been lindy hopping? I just had my fourth lindy-birthday a couple of months ago.
What inspired this illustration: It was the caption “Why walk when you can dance?” Rena from Dance Tel Aviv studio asked me to illustrate it for a t-shirt, and the first image that came to mind was that of the evolution, and how cool it would be to add Kevin & Jo’s famous lindy pose to symbolize the transition from walking to dancing. It was one of those moments where the image just appears in your head and you feel you have to draw it immediately.
Where do you hope to go with your art: Like with lindy hop, I hope to always work hard to improve my art in techique and style, and to enjoy every step of the way.
Available for commissions: Yes, I am available.
