Music Mondays – Two Cousins

Wow, I think this is my favorite “jazz dance” video I saw this year. Not only do I dig the song, but I LOVE the way the video was shot. It was filmed in black & white, has two beautiful and well-dressed gentlemen dancing, and the movement is captivating. Well done!

Lucy Needs – Director
Ryan Francois – Choreographer
Featuring Ryan Francois and Remy Kouakou Kouame

If this video “reminds you of something,” most likely you’ve seen a clip of Al Minss & Leon James somewhere. Allow me to refresh your memory:

What a great homage!!

A little bit about the band:

Slow Club is an English folk rock duo formed in Sheffield in 2006 and consists of Charles Watson (vocals, chords) and Rebecca Taylor (vocals, guitar, drums). “Two Cousins” is from the band’s second album “Paradise”. Indie Shuffle describes their music as “reminiscent of the aforementioned bands, sharing the same folksy pop sound that’s perfect for cloud watching on a summer day.”  Their label, Moshi Moshi Records says that the band is known for playing “all sorts of weird instruments, like water-filled glass bottles, spoons and the back of a wooden chair. ” Haha, if that’s not reason enough to listen to them, I don’t know what is. 😀

You can buy it at Google Play or on Amazon. Want to read a much better review of the band + video? Check it out here!
